The UK arm of a global bakery ingredients supplier has achieved premium compliance standards with help from Seamcor software.
Over 100 years old and with its HQ near Brussels in Belgium, Puratos is a food ingredients provider, supporting the bakery sector in particular, and supplying customers in over 100 countries.
After a full rollout during 2019, into the both Puratos UK sites (located in Liverpool and Buckingham), David Elmer, Operations Director at Puratos UK said, “It has been a pleasure working with the team at Seamcor. On our request the system was fully implemented at our Liverpool site within a very tight timescale of only four weeks!

The recently installed Seamcor software has enabled Puratos to improve their high-quality compliance standards. By simply clicking on a smart phone screen, operatives can now undertake and submit essential auditing information from production lines and other operational areas.
The new tech is used to monitor and audit temperature checks, GMP checks, glass checks, machinery checks, Production Checks, Health & Safety Risk Assessments and SOP checks. In addition, the Seamcor software enables non-conformance reports to be created and submitted. These are picture based and enable management to respond swiftly.
JJ Kotze, MD at Seamcor explains, “Within its production and management processes, Puratos recognised that it used an excessive amount of paper-based monitoring and auditing.
The company was therefore seeking a tech-based solution to reduce paper and modernise processes. They asked us to help.”
With enhanced employee ownership, visibility and accountability, the company has seen faster communication between departments. In addition, the ongoing operational reports that are electronically created and submitted, give management a constant and reassuring overview of activity.
Management has also received very positive feedback from employees, who find the handheld, mobile phone functionality easy to use.
